Spring Thing embraces the ethos of New Culture, which is beautifully described in the following quotes from our sister organizations:

“NFNC [Network For a New Culture] seeks to build a sustainable, violence-free culture through exploring intimacy, personal growth, transparency, radical honesty, equality, compassion, sexual freedom, and the power of community.” ―

"New Culture seeks to create environments where authenticity, transparency and honesty are deeply valued and encouraged. When we connect from the deep heart, a magical world of love, harmony, fulfillment, intimacy and joy becomes possible for us and the planet." - Autumn Camp,  New Culture Northern California (NCNC)

"New Culture" is about creating sustainable, rich, intimate personal relationships, along with a sustainable world to enjoy them in, based on transparency, delight, freedom, and community. In order to create a New Culture in our lives and in the larger society, we put on events that help us develop the skills we need to make that real, including communication, self-knowledge, presence, conflict resolution, and effective activism. - (world-wide New Culture groups and events info page)

Want to present something awesome at S'more Camp?

We'd love to hear from you. Please send us a bio, a photo, and a description of your offering. There are very few presenter slots because we offer a single track workshop experience.  There are not multiple simultaneous offerings.  This way, the entire camp can attend together (except those who opt out), which provides deeping community bond and shared tool-sets available for use throughout camp.  Please send your offering ASAP because if the planning team selects your presentation for the main schedule, we'd like to add it to the website. This email address is being protected from spambots. Singing!  Drum Circles!  Jam Sessions!  Where music happens, community happens!   Bring your voices, songs, and instruments to share!

Working together builds community.  Doing something real together such as helping prepare a meal allows us to experience people in a different kind of setting, and to practice the relationship skills that we will be learning.  If you have a physical challenge that would make it difficult for you to contribute, please check in with us before camp.  Different options include: meal prep, meal clean, snacks, sanctuary beautification, sheet cleaning and main room refresh.  We will send out Karma Yoga signup closer to the start of camp.

We have observed that commuting to, arriving at and getting set-up can be challenging.  We request that you plan to devote your entire arrival day to Spring Thing in support of yourself and the volunteer organizing team.  Please arrive on the property between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Wednesday (lunch will be available 1-2:00). Plan your travel to allow time for you to arrive, check-in, have lunch, and get yourself set-up BEFORE 4 p.m.

Early Arrival Tuesday, April 1st

Tuition: $65

An Early Arrival is offered on Tuesday, 4/1 for the Venture Retreat grounds fee of $65.  An Early Arrival provides opportunity to ease into Spring Thing. You are welcome to take time for yourself – relax by the pool, soak in the hot tub, have a bonfire, sleep-in….  and/or to help with any set-up activities underway. Those who have participated in Early Arrival commented on how relaxing it was and how ready they were to connect with the larger community.  We will advise of options for having dinner on-site on Tuesday evening and breakfast on-site Wednesday morning for an additional fee closer to the beginning of Spring Thing.
